SIDNEY ADVERTISING HANGING WALL CLOCK FOR A.R. PENNY DRUGGIST & JEWELER. Sidney, N.Y., last quarter of the 19th Century. The rare hanging clock with walnut case and spool gallery. The rectangular door with a wonderful eglomise panel advertising the Carpenter House at Depot. The dial, a simple calendar centering a Roman Numeral chapter ring and sweep second hand and with an eight-day spring, time only movement. The box base with three rotating cylinders, each with hand painted advertising panels. The unique detail about Sidney advertising clocks is that at 5 minute intervals a bell sounds and the three panels in the lower section of the case revolve to display three additional ads. Case retains original label. Pendulum & key present. SIZE: 69″ l x 28″ w x 10-1/2″ d; 12″ dial dia. PROVENANCE: Dr. Charles Bradley, Lubbock, TX.
