JAMES EDWARD FITZGERALD (American, 1899-1971) “DORYMAN-MONHEGAN”. Watercolor monochromatic scene shows a man rowing in a dory over peaked wave. Attached to back is the original bill of sale from “Edgar F. Hubert” and signed by Edgar and Anne, dated December 3rd, 1975 with title, artist and “This painting was in Mr. Fitzgerald’s studio on Monhegan Island at the time that we took possession under the terms of his will in 1971”. The backboard also has a James Fitzgerald stamp. Housed in a silver frame with white matte. SIGHT SIZE; 25” x 19”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-29939 (4,000-6,000)
