*DELUXE SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 TAKEDOWN RIFLE. Cal. 32 WS. SN 225445. Unusual special order rifle with 26″ oct bbl, full magazine, replacement Lyman ivory bead front sight, Lyman 6A folding rear sight and a Lyman tang sight. It has a most unusual & rare highly figured buttstock with “H” style checkered capped pistol grip & a very deep shadow cheek piece, 14″ over a Winchester hard rubber buttplate. Forearm is matching, burled walnut with early style square back checkering that may have been extended from “H” style checkering. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain about 95% strong orig blue with some very light flaking on the left top flat above the forearm. Magazine tube has some thinning around the front bbl band. Forend cap retains most of its orig blue finish with a couple of small thinned areas. Receiver retains 70-75% strong orig blue with the balance a gray patina. Wood is sound with a plugged hole in the bottom of the stock & retains most of its strong bright orig piano finish varnish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-56462 JR491 (5,000-8,000)
