VARGUENO STYLE CARVED WALNUT CABINET. First half 20th century. The rectangular case fitted with ornate pierced iron carrying handles. The front gold washed and intricately carved in the Gothic style with rope twist columns and floral rosettes, fitted with an arrangement of drawers beneath three cupboard doors. The case fitted to an H-form trestle base comprised of columnar supports, stop-fluted and rope twist in form, the central stretcher with 4 colonnettes and arches, raised on a shoe foot trestle base. The base headed by carved masks on simulated lopers. SIZE: 59-3/4″ h x 39-1/2″ w (case) x 17-1/2″ d (overall). CONDITION: Very good with original surfaces. No restoration noted. Missing section of applied decoration, upper right corner facing, otherwise very good. 9-96855 (1,200-1,500)
