SCARCE EARLY 1900’S FRAMED U.M.C. AMMUNITION POSTER. Fine colorful ammunition advertisement, 24-1/4″ x 17″. Both bands intact. Main theme: U.S. team winning the Palma match at Bisley, England July 1903. Center of poster is apparently a picture of winning American team standing & seated in front of scoreboard, holding their Krag rifles. There are some very famous names on the board, such as Casey, Doyle, Keough, Winder, Holcomb, & three others whose names are blocked out. Apparently some of men brought their families as there are two young boys in photo. Another photo shows shooters in position titled “THE LAST ROUND AT 1000 YARDS”. These photos are overlaid by a reprint of a telegram addressed to Union Metallic Cartridge Co., congratulating them on winning match with UMC ammo. Outside edges of poster have colorful cartridges & top center has Palma match trophy. Bottom has colorful advertising. CONDITION: Very fine. Two or three small wrinkles & a repaired tear in bottom right, not affecting image. A fine scarce poster. 4-57756 JR528 (800-1,200)
