WHITNEY KENNEDY LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 4071. Standard grade rifle with 28″ oct bbl, full magazine, Rocky Mountain front sight & semi-buckhorn rear sight with checkered edges. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock & crescent buttplate with trap. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains about 30% thin orig blue, mostly in the sheltered areas with the balance a medium patina. Bbl address & caliber markings are clear. Front sight has been slightly altered with a notch cut in the rear edge. Receiver retains 30-35% orig blue with the balance a medium silver/brown patina. Wood is sound with light nicks, dings & scratches with the forearm retaining 50-60% orig varnish & the buttstock 75-80%. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with light to moderate pitting.
