FRANCIS H. RICHARDSON (American, 1859-1934) “GIRL IN BLUE”. Outstanding large oil on canvas interior scene shows a young woman seated in a wood armchair with scroll arms next to an open fire. She has a blue blouse and she is sewing a piece of white cloth. A mantle is set behind her with a bottle and figurine. A fireplace settle is beside. Signed lower right. Also inscribed on reverse “Girl in Blue, F.H. Richardson Ipswich, Mass”. Housed in a modern gilt gesso decorated frame. SIZE: 26″ x 32″. CONDITION: Some inpainting, very good. 9-95698 (4,000-6,000)
