ANTHONY THIEME (American, 1888-1954) THE FISHING FLEET. Watercolor scene shows three sail fishing boats with figures. The masts are draped with fishing nets which are drying and a man in a skiff is beside one of the fishing boats. Seagulls fly overhead and a point of land with two houses can be seen beyond. Signed bottom right “A Thieme”. Housed in a modern gilt frame with wide white matte. On back is a piece of the original matte inscribed “To my friend D S Greene from A Thieme, May 1-1949″. SIZE: Sight: 11-1/2″ x 2-3/4”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-95709 (2,000-3,000)
