CASED COLT TEXAS PATERSON REVOLVER. Cal .41. 7-1/2” oct bbl. Marked “Patent Arms M’g Co. Paterson,N.J.-Colt’s Pt.” with appropriate lines and asterisks on top of bbl. Bbl is rifled with 11 round bottom grooves right hand twist. The serial number appears on the back of bbl, back of the cylinder, hammer, rotating ring, backstrap and grips. The wedge has no number. The rest of the mechanism has not been disassembled to check for internal part numbers. The case is modern and contains a replica powder flask, combination screwdriver bullet seater, cleaning rod, cap tin and bullet mold. The screwdriver is period but not Colt. The capper is marked “J. JOHNSON & SON” in an arc over “PATERSON N.J.”. There are two turned wood boxes, one empty and one containing a set of replica screws from Dixie Gun Works. SN674. CONDITION: Smooth gray patina overall with very light pitting and some rust stains. Cylinder has some battering on the rear and one area of moderate pitting where the gun sat in the same position for a number of years. Cylinder scene is visible but getting a little thin. Screws are mostly all buggered. Grips have minor chips at the right toe and top left. Action is sticky, probably due to the worn screws. Case and new accessories are fine. Cap box has some light corrosion and a small solder repair at the mouth. 4-49824 FS286 (25,000-40,000)
