ATTRIBUTED TO DAVID RYCKAERT (Flemish, Late 17th/Late 18th Century) SMOKE BREAK IN THE TAVERN. Oil on canvas interior tavern scene shows three gentleman seated around a keg formed table smoking from clay pipes. Several other figures can be seen in the background in an alcove, the floor has a wood tub with earthen ware jug as well as a large pewter tankard. Signed on edge of bench “D. Ryckaert”. Housed in a fine gilt gesso decorated frame. SIZE: 19-1/4″ x 26-1/4″. CONDITION: Relined with some restoration but hard to determine extent under blacklight. 9-95315 (4,000-6,000)
