CINNABAR BEAKER VASE. Ch’ien Lung mark (1735-1796) and probably of the period, China. Ku form vase with heavy bronze body with traces of gilding. Surface carved with archaic scrolled cicada motifs at the neck and foot on a diapered ground. Body decorated with geometric patterns surrounding shaped reserves of various flowers. SIZE: 11-1/2″ h. CONDITION: With losses to cinnabar within a cartouche at base. Additional small losses to diapering throughout. Also with minor stress cracks. Black lacquer beneath rim with craquelure. 7-73212 (400-600)
