JAPANESE FIGURAL BRONZE. Meiji Period, Japan. Depicting two robed figures, the standing figure with toad on head, the seated figure in a position of supplication. Both on fantastic rockwork mounted on a diaperwork plinth raised on cast cabriole feet. SIZE: 13-3/4″ h x 9-1/2″ l x 7-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Standing figure needs reattachment to bronze, otherwise very good with undisturbed surfaces and good patina. 7-70226 (1,000-1,500)
