ATTRIBUTED TO CORNELIUS DUSART (Dutch, 1660-1704) WATERCOLOR TROMPE LE OILE PORTRAIT OF A MAN. This interesting piece has a background in watercolor that resembles a wood board. The artist has painted a portrait edged in black with a margin and has fooled the viewer into thinking that this was secured to the board with eight spots of red sealing wax but in fact it is one watercolor image. The only signature or writing is a “V” in the bottom right. Housed in a gilt antique wood frame with glass front. SIZE: Sight: 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94305 (1,000-1,500)
