ROBERT J HAMMOND (British, Late 19th Century) “THE DINGLES YARDBY WOOD”. Large oil on canvas scene shows a mother and daughter crossing a wooden bridge over a small stream leading to woods. Beyond the bridge is an expanse of fields and tree lined borders with resting and standing cows. Landscape is seen under white cloud and blue sky with birds flying. Housed in its original magnificent period frame with wood gilt artist plaque. Signed lower left “R J Hammond 1892″. Also titled, signed and dated on reverse of canvas. SIZE: 24″ x 38”.
