HAND MADE COLLAGE ADVERTISING OYSTERS FOR SALE. Circa 19th century. This is really a neat item! It is a handmade collage with a watercolor background depicting a very busy harbor or port scene. On the bridge sits a young maid with water colored features and having an actual cloth dress. She is busy shucking oysters and at her feet are two watercolor applied cats, one on fabric appliquéd cloth and also an appliquéd water colored basket of oysters with a small sign, “Oysters Fresh Every Day”. Watercolor image initialed “E. M. N.”. SIZE: 19” h x 15” w. CONDITION: Generally good. 9-23419 (500-800)
