TLINGIT CARVED SHAMAN FIGURE. Outstanding carved figure of a man with elbows bent and holding arms to chest. The figure sits on a round domed base which is one piece. The decorated face with red and black features and the figure wearing a crown with carved thorns. Presently mounted to a black square base. 19th century. SIZE: Max. Ht of figure without black base: 14″ PROVENANCE: From a private Maine collection. CONDITION: Figure is very good. Thorned crown and garment are intact but loose.
