HATCH FAMILY ‘LADY LIBERTY’ SCRIMSHAW TOOTH. Third quarter 19th century. This small example scrimmed with the bust of Lady Liberty beneath laurel garland, surmounted by patriotic shield. SIZE: 5-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Nice condition with good patina. Vertical shrinkage cracks apparent, but stable. Small brass pin protruding slightly from tip of tooth. 9-96465 (1,000-1,500)
