AMES MODEL 1842 BOXLOCK NAVAL PISTOL. Cal .52. 6” round bbl. Dated 1844 under “USN” on lock and bbl. The cartouche on the stock is not readable. Bbl has been bored out. The front sight and bbl band are replacements. NSN. CONDITION: Bbl has been heavily cleaned and reground. Moderate pitting remains on the lockplate, hammer and rear of bbl. Stock has been repaired in several places, sanded and refinished. Wood is missing behind bbl band. Lock is good. 4-49882 FS196 (300-500)
