FINE GRAND BANKS SCHOONER SHIP MODEL. Circa 1930. This fine example with planked hull and decking, rendered fully rigged and outfitted but without sails, mounted on a plinth in the form of a dry-dock quay. Masts, booms and deck housings in white paint, hull in black, red beneath the waterline; flying an American flag. This model is displayed in a custom-made glass case. SIZE: Model: 51-1/2″ l. Model and stand: 42″ h. Case: 45″ h. x 57″ l. x 16″ w. PROVENANCE: Wedding gift purchased in Old Quebec in 1930; descended through the original family. CONDITION: Very fine original condition, with some oxidation to anchors and stern board. One chain has become unattached from bowsprit. 9-95307 (1,000-2,000)
