GILT DECORATED AND CARVED VENETIAN MIRROR. Late 18th, early 19th century, in Gothic style. Rectangular mirror plate overlaid with gilt decorated panel in Moorish taste comprised of series of quatrefoils and spades, all surrounded by scrolling floral design within rectangular molded frame. Pierced crest surmounted by flower head above heart bordered by guilloche with scrolling leaf tips overall continuing to fillets; all gilt decorated within a blue/green ground. Pendant apron similarly carved. SIZE: 24-1/2″ x 15-3/4″. CONDITION: Surfaces a mixture of original and overpaint. Gilt decoration similarly distressed. Fair to good overall. Frame structurally intact. 9-23113 (600-800)
