IMPORTANT HALF HULL MODEL SHIP’S MODEL “PARMA”. First quarter 20th century. This large model comprised of 13 lifts in mahogany and spruce depicted with bowsprit, keel, rudder, fore and aft deck profiles, and four masts. Mounted on an oak board. Name plate on backboard in English: “Parma Ferdinand Laeisz Built 1902 A. Rodger & Co Port Glasgow Scotland”. The Parma was built in 1902 at Port Glasgow, Scotland. She was sold to Ferdinand Laeisz’s Flying P Line in 1911, and eventually sold out as a hulk from Hamburg ship breakers in 1947. SIZE: 98″ l x 15-3/4″ h x 6-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned from a New York maritime museum. CONDITION: Very good original condition with original surfaces. 9-97030 (2,000-4,000)
