OUTSTANDING STERLING GEORGE II CHOCOLATE POT. John Wirgman, London, 1750/1. The tapered pot having a wonderful fluted bird-form spout, wood scroll handle, and dome stepped lid with urn knop. Hallmarked at top of body. The side having a fancy armorial crest surmounted by a stag head. WEIGHT: 25 tr. oz. SIZE: 10″ h. PROVENANCE: Robert Frederick Woolworth Estate, Monmouth, Maine. (F.W. Woolworth Store). CONDITION: Generally very good, some light scratches to surface which needs polishing out. 9-23542 (2,500-3,500)
