CANADIAN PROVINCIAL LADDERBACK ARMCHAIR. Province of Quebec, last half 18th century. This fine example with three shaped splats joined to cylindrical stiles headed by flattened knopped finials joined to shaped arms on baluster turned supports centering a trapezoidal woven seat. Raised on cylindrical legs, joined by a double box stretcher. SIZE: 36-1/2″ h of back, 24-3/4″ w overall. CONDITION: Chair retains original surfaces and early, if not original, woven seat. 9-97237 (300-500)
