LEDGER OF DR. CHARLES G. ADAMS, KEENE, NEW HAMPSHIRE. Circa 1849-1855. The leather bound ledger recording 372 pages of the physician’s list of patients with descriptions and itemized charges for treatments during individual visits. This interesting ledger provides a view of an individual medical practitioner in the mid 19th century in rural New England. The lot is accompanied by a photograph of the doctor taken by “E. M. WHITE, PHOTOGRAPHER, KEENE, NEW HAMPSHIRE” and is also accompanied by an account summary of an alphabetized list of patients, enumerating the status of their account with the doctor. SIZE: 14″h x 10″w x 1-3/4″d. CONDITION: The cover of the leather-bound ledger with overall wear. Spine intact. The matching account summary ledger, bound with marbleized covers, is in overall good condition. Alphabet tabs A-E damaged or absent. Photograph is very good.
