ENGLISH CREAMWARE BLACK TRANSFER-PRINTED MUG. Last quarter 18th cent. Transfer decorated depicting a young boy and girl examining a butterfly in a wooded landscape within a rondele titled “FRIENDSHIP LOVE and UNITY” within a banner beneath a floral spray centering two clasped hands. Beneath the rondele is the quotation “Accept this PLEDGE of AFFECTION” above a drapery swag. SIZE: 6″ h. CONDITION: Four vertical old hairline cracks running downwards from rim. The rim with a small old flake beside handle. The molded base rim also with old small hairline cracks and chips. Otherwise very good. No restoration noted. 9-97060 (500-700)
