CORNELIUS DAVID KRIEGHOFF (Canadian, 1812-1872) THE TRAPPER. Oval oil on canvas half portrait of a north woodsman wearing a light blue cap, jacket with red sash and mittens. He holds a sack over his shoulder and the other hand holds a walking stick. Signed lower left “C. Kreighof”. Housed in an antique gesso decorated gold frame. SIZE: 11” x 9-1/4”. CONDITION: Edges of the canvas have been strip lined at the tack line, otherwise original canvas. Very minor touch up, very good. 9-94047 (9,000-12,000)
