FINE ANTIQUE TABRIZ ORIENTAL CARPET, NORTHWEST PERSIA. Last quarter 19th century. Central arabesque poled gold medallion centering a terracotta rondel within which is deep indigo, gold, and terracotta flower head. All on blue/black open field within serrated gold spandrels with dense flower heads throughout. Main terracotta border with turquoise, green and gold latticework within multiple guard borders of scrolling flower heads. SIZE: 7′ 9″ x 12′ 5″. CONDITION: With even wear throughout. Small areas of foundation showing in field. Colors strong. Some losses to ends. Good overall. 9-22620 (6,000-9,000)
