GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF AVALOKITESHVARA. Tibetan, 19th century. The beautifully detailed and executed figure of the Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion seated on a lotus throne. Figure entwined in scrolling flowers, her crown and accoutrements set with coral jewels. Base of throne engraved with ethereal dragons, cloudbands and deer. SIZE: 8-7/8″ h. CONDITION: Very good.
