UNUSUAL FOLK ART CARVED PATRIOTIC WALKING STICK. American, Second half 19th century. This ebonized walking stick carved overall with raised stars, crosses, shields, cartouches, cloverleaf and other geometric shapes. Each is decorated with a polychrome stained etched device, mostly military related such as swords, crossed arrows, cannon and anchor, etc. The upper half nicely decorated with American eagles and “The Great Shield of the United States”. SIZE: Ht 34 1/2″ CONDITION: Retains good original surfaces with a single shrinkage split in upper half of shaft. 9-97079 (500-1,000)
