AMERICAN ARCHITECTURAL FULLY CARVED AND GILT DISPLAYED EAGLE. 19th century. Stylistically, boldly carved eagle in pine with raised head and partially open beak perched on rockwork, plumage carved in fine detail. Now mounted on a later plinth. SIZE: 29″ h overall x 54″ wingspan x 20-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Original gilded surfaces with minor losses to edges of wings and to small feathered areas. Backs of wings with hand cut reinforcing braces. Seam repair to one talon. Structurally very good. 9-21771 (6,000-9,000)
