FRAMED AUTOGRAPHS: CHARLES A. LINDBERGH; AVIATOR (American, 1902-1974); HARRY GUGGENHEIM; PHILANTHROPIST (American, 1890-1971); BUZZ ALDRIN; ASTRONAUT (American, 1930-); MICHAEL COLLINS; ASTRONAUT (American, 1930-) & JOHN GLENN, ASTRONAUT (American, 1921-). This collage of astronauts and aviators has a central photograph of Charles Lindbergh and Harry Guggenheim shown arriving at Bolling Field to be present at the International Civic Aero Conference in Washington, December 12, 1928″. An international newsreel photograph. It is bordered on top and bottom with four bronze medals including “Pioneers of Flight”, “Tribute to Apollo”, “Robert Hutchings Goddard” and another Robert Goddard. Surrounding these are six First Day Issue covers. One, First Man on the Moon, 1969, signed by Aldrin, Collins & Armstrong. One signed by Harry Guggenheim on a Robert Goddard First Day Issue. Also, there is a photo of John Glenn outside his capsule which is signed. Another is a postcard of Lindbergh standing beside the Spirit of St. Louis and dated “1927”. Also incorporated into the collage is a Charles Lindbergh signature “C.A. Lindbergh, March 1934″. A nice grouping of signatures, subject matter and stamps.
