Additional Information: This lot is part of the renowned Dorothy-Lee Jones Museum Collection of Douglas Hill, Maine. We have just learned that with the exception of Item #4 (in the description), the rest of the Lusterware was at one time part of the Dr. Robert L. Womer Collection of English Lusterware. Dr. Womer was from Niles, Michigan. His outstanding collection formed many, many years ago consisted of approximately 200 pieces, which eventually became part of the Jones Museum.

LOT OF SIX LUSTREWARE PITCHERS & MUGS. 1) Large 4-3/4″ h x 5″ dia. pink lustre handled mug with front panel “Mason’s Arm’s” with a Masonic stage display in black with red & green highlights. 2) Large 4-1/2″ h x 4-1/2″ dia. pink lustre handled mug with front framed panel “Robert & Mary Dixon Love & Live Happy 1823”. On either side of handle are landscape scenes. 3) 6-1/2″ h pink lustre pitcher having a pink lustre top band with light blue band below. The body having a coat of arms titled “Glaziers Arms”; Also a transfer scene of women and men at side of pond with recently caught fish; Front panel under spout “H & F Pidcock Ashbourn 1817”. 4) 6-1/4″ h pink lustre decorated blue & white Staffordshire pitcher. Scene of three figures & horses with dog. The pink lustre highlighted in the sky and ground. 5) 5″ h pink lustre pitcher with a colored view “East View of the Cast Iron Bridge over the River Wear E. Burdon MP.”. The other side a verse “The loss of gold is much. The loss of time is more: But losing Christ is such a loss as no man can restore”. 6) 5″ copper & pink lustre pitcher with transfer portrait “God Save Queen Caroline” with a verse titled “Long Live Caroline As for the Green-Bag crew, Justice will have it due, God save the Queen! Confound their politicks, Frustrate their knavish tricks, On HER our hopes we fix, God save the Queen!”. CONDITION: 1) Very good. 2) Restored. 3) Very good. 4) Hairline cracks and a few chips in rim. 5) Very good. 6) Crows foot on base, some discolored craquelure. 9-22002 (750-1,000)
