GOTHIC REVIVAL CARVED OAK FIRE SURROUND. First quarter 20th century, England. Probably designed for a small coal burning heater. The rectangular cabinet fitted with a pair of panel doors each carved with robed medieval figures beneath Gothic arches mounted with iron hinges and lock above simulated marble surround. The cabinet flanked by balusters carved with medieval knights on pedestals. The cabinet sides with linen fold carving. SIZE: 47″ h x 37″ w x 14″ d. CONDITION: Cabinet retains original fumed oak surfaces. The hearth opening liner in need of some restoration. Otherwise good. 9-29742 (200-300)
