PAIR OF HARDWOOD OR ZITAN CARVED GUARDIAN LIONS. Qing Dynasty. This ornately carved pair, each playing with a brocade ball and each with mother of pearl eyes, the female with a cub. Each with an inscription beneath the figure. SIZE: 7″ h x 13-1/2″ l x 6-3/4″ w. PROVENANCE: A Royal gift presented to Prince Aixinjueluo Pujun from Alashan Aixinjueluo Duoluoteselenge. Accompanied by document describing provenance and signed by the granddaughter of Aixinjueluo Pujun. Signed letter of provenance by Mme. Hengyi Aixinjueluo accompanies this lot.
