FRAMED AUTOGRAPH: ABRAHAM LINCOLN, PRESIDENT (American, 1809-1865) & WILLIAM H. SEWARD SEC. OF STATE (American, 1801-1872). Outstanding framed collage incorporating a partially seen document having a signature of Abraham Lincoln as President and William H. Seward as Secretary of State. Also matted above the document is an oil on board side shoulder length portrait of Lincoln and is attributed to Xanthus Russell Smith. Also incorporated is a First Day Issue envelope cover of the 85th Anniversary of the Address at Gettysburg dated 1948; First Day Issue postmark and stamps over an engraving of William H. Seward and a First Day Issue envelope dated 1967 of the 100th Anniversary of the Alaskan purchase. Housed in a modern dark frame with a white matte having five cutouts. SIZE: Total: 29″ x 11-1/2″. Signature: 2″ x 8-1/2″. Portrait: 7-1/2″ x 6-1/2″. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ & Portland, ME.
