STONEWARE FIGURE OF CHU KO. Chinese, late Qing Dynasty. Probably Yi Hsing ware. Fierce bearded figure carrying a sword and lotus stem parasol surmounted by a bat. Flowing robes cinched by a belt and open at the chest. Artist signed on rear of figure. Additional plaque of calligraphy proper left front of base. SIZE: 19-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of the grand-niece of the last Emperor Puyi of the Qing Dynasty and granddaughter of crown Prince Pujun. CONDITION: Very good overall. 9-23989 (8,000-10,000)
