TWO EARLY BRASS POCKET COMPASSES. 1) Two piece brass with sighting device having floating paper label marked “Troughton & Simms London” in original leather carrying case. SIZE: 3-3/4” dia. CONDITION: Glass lid is cracked. 2) Brass round open compass with two sighting arms having a brass face with engraved black enameled letters for West, East and South and engraved fleur de lis at North position. Underside with screw hole attachment for post (which is missing). In its original velvet lined pressed paper case. SIZE: 4-1/2” dia. CONDITION: Case shows wear, compass is very good. 8-85800, 8-86844 (400-600)
