PROVENANCE: Signed certificate of provenance by Mme. Hengyi Aixinjueluo stating that to her recollection from the information that was provided to her by her ancestors this item is from the collection of Crown Prince Aixinjueluo Pujun and was a gift given by Prince Alashan Douluoteseleng during the last Crown Prince Aixinjueluo Pujun’s visit to Prince Alashan’s palace in inner Mongolia.

IMPORTANT RHINOCEROS HORN SEAL. Chinese, possibly Qianlong Period (1736-1796). Finial carved in the form of a pair of foo dogs. The seal on the base engraved in the Ch’ien Lung style. Fitted in a Tzu Tan box lined with pale yellow silk. SIZE: Seal: 3″ h, 2-1/4″ dia. Box: 3″ h x 5-1/2″ l x 4-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: Gift given by Prince Alashan Aixinjueluo Duoluoteseleng to Crown Prince Aixinjueluo Pujun (1886-1929) during his visit to the palace in Inner Mongolia. By descent to the current owner, the granddaughter of Aixinjueluo Pujun.Signed letter of provenance by Mme. Hengyi Aixinjueluo accompanies this lot.
