CLASSICAL CARVED MAHOGANY LYRE BASE CARD TABLE. Second quarter 19th century. Probably New York, the rectangular hinged figural mahogany top with round corners above the conforming concave frieze on a lyre form molded support, applied with carved acanthus leaves, joined to a plinth with incurved sides, raised on acanthus carved outswept legs with scrolled volutes, terminating in original brass capped claw foot casters. SIZE: 29-1/2″ h x 33″ w x 17″ d. PROVENANCE: Estate of William Hoeschle of Belfast, Maine. CONDITION: Professionally polished and restored with good color and patina. Old shrinkage cracks in top.
