RARE LARGE OUTSTANDING 18TH CENTURY CHINESE CARVED RHINOCEROS HORN LIBATION CUP. This fine, large, and intricately carved example, ornamented overall with conifers, pavilions, and cloud bands in a mountainous landscape. The high relief carved surfaces in the round. The openwork pin trees forming an entwined handle. The interior is ornamented with additional conifers. WEIGHT: 445 grams. SIZE: 5-3/4″ h x 7″ w. PROVENANCE: Ex-Morris Altman Estate auction. CONDITION: On the edge of the rim is a small chip that has been professionally re-attached in such a way as to be nearly indiscernible to the naked eye. Surfaces otherwise undisturbed.
