MAURITZ FREDERIK DE HAAS (American, 1832-1895) UNDER THE MOONLIGHT. Oil on canvas scene shows a full moon casting light on a river with steep cliffs. One side shows a house with dock showing drying nets, two figures in one boat and another in a sailboat. Signed lower left “M F H De Haas N.A.”. Housed in a good period gesso decorated frame with gold liner. SIZE: 18-1/2″ x 25-3/4″. CONDITION: Patch on reverse, masking varnish, restored. Otherwise very good. 9-94540 (8,000-12,000)
