ANTIQUE SERAPE ORIENTAL CARPET, NORTH PERSIA. Last quarter 19th century. Main central poled pale indigo medallion centering a salmon arabesque medallion, all within a madder red field. Overall with geometric floral polychrome vinery, within soft gold and celadon green spandrels, also with polychrome floral design. Main border with soft gold ground with polychrome floral latticework. SIZE: 10′ 9″ x 13′ 5″. PROVENANCE: From a private Connecticut home. CONDITION: With overall even wear commensurate with age. Outer guard borders on ends with losses. Colors are muted and soft with even fading. Very good overall. 9-22625 (6,000-9,000)
