IMPORTANT GROUP OF 18 SNUFF BOTTLES. Chinese & Japanese, 19th and 20th century. Including two interior painted examples, one signed; painted example with grasshopper on leaf; interior painted bottle with coral glass overlay; two Peking glass examples; indigo and crimson; cut red to clear bottle; two cameo cut bottles, one in green carved with insects, the other in blue with bat and ryui blossom; carved stone, possibly soapstone, example with veining and taotie; carved bottle of mythical creature with coral eyes; two small opaque glass bottles, one white, one coral; green glass bottle with gold dust or foil; porcelain example decorated with warriors; two pottery bottles, one with lavender landscape, second decorated with fish in underglaze blue; ovoid pottery vessel. SIZE: Smallest: 1-3/4″ h. Largest: 3-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From the late Dr. Walter B. Jones Collection, most of which he amassed while serving overseas in the Pacific Theater as a combat engineer, Lt.
