PAIR OF CONTINENTAL PAINT DECORATED MOON VASES. Second half of the 19th Century. Each example with flared rim flanked by elliptical handles and raised on a flared footed base with scalloped apron. Each paint decorated front and back. One depicting a painted landscape in which is seen three naked putti by a stream. Applied with a soft paste putti in flight. The second depicting a scene of three putti on a wooded lake shore applied with a soft paste putti in flight capturing a butterfly with a net.. The reverse of each paint decorated with a polychrome floral spray. Each marked beneath the base with indecipherable underglaze white mark. SIZE: 12-1/4″ h x 9-1/4″ w.
