SET OF EIGHT HEPPLEWHITE BENCHMADE CARVED MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS. Early 20th century. Comprised of six side chairs and two arm chairs. The molded arched ‘hoop-back’ centering a pierced rayed carved splat, centering a sheaf of wheat, joined to the trapezoidal overupholstered seat with concave front rail, raised on square molded tapering legs, joined by a recessed box stretcher. The armchairs with serpentine arms, molded grips, and downswept shaped supports. SIZE: 40″ h. of armchairs. 39″ h. of side chairs. CONDITION: Overall very good with original surface, now with ivory leather seat covers. With some professional repairs. 9-92822 (1,500-2,000)
