RARE AND IMPORTANT CHILD’S SACK-BACK WINDSOR ARMCHAIR. Last quarter 18th century. In old mustard paint over various earlier paints including blue and red. This fine scaled-down example with arched crest rail joined to seven delicate swelled spindles further joined to the mid-rail with shaped hand grips with raked baluster and ring-turned arm supports joined to a nicely shaped saddle seat; the front edges chamfered. Raised on conforming boldly rakes & turned legs joined by a swelled H-form stretcher. SIZE: 28-1/4″ h (back) 12-1/4″ h (seat) x 17″ w (arms) CONDITION: In very good untouched condition with no repairs or losses noted.
