ATTRIBUTED TO JOSEPH GOODHUE CHANDLER (American, 1813-1884) PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL. Oil on canvas full length portrait of a young girl seated in a red upholstered armchair with a blue curtain backdrop tied with gold tassel. She wears a white dress and white stockings with blue tied ribbon. Two red stone clasps hold her shoulder sleeves together. She has blue eyes and curled blonde hair. Presented in a rectangular frame with oval window. The original frame has gesso decoration both on the frame and oval liner. The back of canvas having a red artist monogram which possibly could be that of Joseph Chandler. SIZE: 36″ x 29″. CONDITION: Generally very good with some inpainting. 9-21820 (2,000-4,000)
