FINE INLAID AND CARVED ARMCHAIR. First third 20th century, Middle East Region. The stepped arched crestrail above panels with ball and spool trellis work above the central molded panel inlaid with ivory, bone, ebony, and square foil devices in a checkerboard pattern within four panels of inlaid rosettes alternating with pierced trellis work. Joined to the rectangular arms inlaid with ebony bordered hexagons within ebony and ivory candy cane striping centering the rectangular over-upholstered seat in burgundy velvet raised on square legs joined by spool trellis work stretchers. SIZE: Back: 48″ h. Seat: 18-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Very good with original surfaces. 9-29735 (400-600)
