Double elephant folio hand colored print shows a white swan with back stretched neck & head about to devour a moth on the water’s surface. Titled at center bottom. Below image lower left “Drawn from nature by J.J. Audubon, F.R.S. F.L.S”. Below image right “Engraved, Printed & Coloured by R. Havell 1838″. Housed in a modern black and gold edged frame with double matte. A wonderful opportunity to acquire this rare and desirable Audubon print. SIZE: Overall: 25″ x 38″. Image: 22-1/4″ x 36-1/2″. Sight: 23-3/4″ x 37-1/4”. PROVENANCE: Descended through the family of Shepherd Brooks, Boston, MA. & Medford, MA. CONDITION: Examined out of frame.
