WAYNE BEAM MORRELL (American, 1923-) “BEARSKIN NECK, ROCKPORT, MASS”. Outstanding oil on masonite Rockport Harbor scene shows three large sailboats moored in colorful water. Figures on deck of each, sails are down and one flies the American flag. Beyond is the harbor headlands with rocky shore having two houses beyond. A sliver of ocean is seen with three sailboats on the horizon. All under a colorful sky. Signed lower left. Housed in a fine gesso decorated gilt frame with white linen liner. Back having title and date “July 1982″. Also this adorned the Rockport Town Hall and indicates this on back of painting. An outstanding work by this popular Cape Ann artist. SIZE: 16″ x 20”.
